Tell us, how would you describe your personal style ?

My personal style is comfortable, hassle-free and easy going. I am spontaneous and love surprises so I love clothes and accessories with a unique twist. One such cherished belonging is a cotton-knit tie and dye skirt which can be worn as a beach top over a swim suit. If I had a choice, I could live in it ;) Ones personal style is never complete without a bright smile.

What does fashion mean to you ?

Fashion is like dance, it needs to be in rhythm and needs to be free. Fashion to me is being able to carry off my personal style effortlessly. That which is refreshing and creates excitement. Fashion is not about wearing branded outfits and following fleeting trends, it is being classy and timeless in taste.

What is it like starting a business rooted in sustainability as opposed to something more traditional?

Starting a business rooted in sustainability provides us the assurance of giving back to nature/community, rather than just taking from it like any other commercial operation. This approach helps us appreciate and preserve our traditions and cultural roots. In some small way, we would love to make this difference and inspire our future generations help these communities survive urban pressures and changing times

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go ?

It would have to be a place surrounded by nature’s bounty, deeply rooted culture, strong ethnicity and wildlife. Honestly, this is a very difficult question to answer, because I can’t pick between Tibet and Galapagos :O. If I were on a culture tour, then Tibet. Galapagos would be my dose of nature, terrain and the enchanting ecosystem!

What is something unexpected that you have learned from the time spent working alongside artisans in India ?

It is amazing to see two distinct type of Indian artisans here. One, who sticks to the traditional methods and uses the same techniques that was handed down to them through generations. And then another who has adapted to contemporary styles and are yet not trying to dilute the original art form. One common thing to learn from them is to be persistent and hardworking against all odds.

Tell us what some of your favourite or go-to item The Nomadic Trails pieces are ?

I have several favourites! But if I were forced to pick one, it has to be the new moonstone Lotus necklace from our new in-house collection. The details are dainty and delicate, yet there is something so strong about the design. My other favourite is the Astra Jingga Pillow cover… a piece that would instantly brighten up the space without much effort. Its amazing how simple accents go a long way in adding some color to your life

What's something most people don't know about you ?

My unconditional love for dance and nature! Dance is my way of de-stressing and rejuvenating energy. I have been actively engaging myself with Search Years, an NGO in Gurgaon (India) who works with kids of the underprivileged. Through classical and folk dance forms, the kids are provided a platform and an opportunity to delve into culture and art. It is a delight to witness the excitement and also be a part of some of their most memorable days.

The love for nature is ingrained since I was a young child. We have rescued fallen, abandoned, hurt bird chicks of all shapes, sizes and types. Once healed, they would be sent off to resume their life with nature. This love for nature has only grown in recent times. I am also a certified advanced scuba diver and my dream is to swim with the Hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos
